Pumpkin spice lattes: The unofficial mascot of white girl winter and, oddly enough, the self-love movement.
The Cringe: “Indulging in this seasonal masterpiece is a form of self-care! It nourishes my soul and aligns my chakras.”
The Reality: They’re delicious. That’s it. That’s the point.
If that fleeting moment of autumnal bliss with a PSL brings you joy, go for it. Who cares if it’s “cringe”? One person’s PSL is another person’s peanut butter and tuna sandwich. It might seem like an abomination to some, a culinary disaster waiting to happen.
But if that’s your jam, if that strange, delightful combination brings you a moment of pure, unadulterated joy, then by all means, indulge.
Self-love isn’t always about grand gestures or profound realizations. Sometimes it’s about acknowledging your own unique preferences, even if they defy logic or convention. Sometimes it’s about savoring that PSL, that peanut butter and tuna sandwich, that guilty pleasure that brings you a tiny bit of happiness in an otherwise chaotic world.
